Aspen Skiing Season Extended

According to a report by the Denver Post, the Aspen Skiing Company will extend the Season until April 27th, thanks to more than 120 inches of snow on the ground in the Highland Bowl and nearly 100 inches at mid-mountain!

Happy skiing!

4000+ miles from home…

No – I’m not deployed – I left willingly – to visit Germany during the Christmas Season, to visit Family and see the Christmas Markets. And while it’s beautiful – let me just say one thing: I will never ever say anything negative about any of our parking lots in and around town. N0t even about the metered parking….because after trying to find parking here in Germany, ANYTHING is a breeze!

Here in Germany, most cars are very small (think smart car size) due to gas prices, taxes and the non-existent parking spaces. So imagine, fitting a truck or SUV into a spot that can barely hold a smart car….interesting, eh?

However – once that hurdle is successfully handled – the Christmas Markets await. They consist of outdoor markets, offering booth after decorated booth, selling anything from Glühwein (a hot spiced wine) to brats, candies, cookies, toys and decorative items. The smells alone are wonderful. Visiting one of those markets truly puts you into the Christmas spirit.

Some of these wonderful Christmas Markets…
